Notes

Commission for Mark via Ro.
Cast on 80 stitches with 3.5 mm needle, rather than 96 in Brioche Starter Hat pattern, and work 5.5 cm brim with purl turn. Use 3 mm for brim. 3.25 mm for body after set-up after the short row purl round.

Happy with 3mm needle guage, so after passing the point where brim and hat were same length I returned to the 3mm needle for the body of the hat.

I rapid decreased when reached 23 cm length unblocked. 4 x 4 into 1 decreases on 1st round, brioche purled next round then 2 x brioche 4 in 1 decreases between the 1st quarter point decreases with regular brioche knit between the decreases if stitches allowed, followed instructions with brioche purl, brioche knit and brioche purl rounds before the final decreases.
Brioche purled 1 round and resolved brioche with knit no yarn over of of knit brioche stitches and cut yarn to pickup and close the circle weaving in tail and picking up any looser stitches tensioning to the centre point.

Unblocked length 24.5 cm and width at brim turn point 24 cm across. Weighs 62.3 gms

Stretched out the crown when blocking on Styrofoam head to smooth the top (tension a bit tight), also stretched purposefully for length, as unlike superwash did not grow in blocking on this tighter guage.

Finished measurements 25cm x 25 cm.
