Decided on Old Shale lace pattern (from the Hermaness shawl) for top edge to extend the size as my yarn overs were too tight to block to desired size, used almost 49 gms of 3rd skein.
The repeat stitch count is 17 stitches for Old shale from the Hermaness shawl.

Picked up 346 stitches from top edge on 3.75mm needle, and knit 3 stitch knit purl knit edge slipping first and last stitches of the row, 2 rows stockinette knit on 3.75 mm needle, changed to 4mm needle and started adding increases on right side row (as kfb on inner edge stitch).
Set up lace with a pattern row and purl return row, then followed the chart with alternating knit and lace sequence from row 2 of chart.

I have knit 4 repeats of the Old Shale lace pattern, unblocked is 7.2 cm, looking at knitting another 2 repeats, then binding off after 2 rows garter, as 1 of the stitch panels is 11cm blocked, so top border would be similar ratio with a wavy edge peaks at 13 cm.
Border off the needles on 26th, will try to reblock at the end of the week, otherwise it will be on the weekend.

My new border of 13 cm deep old Shale lace blocked, has made shawl 39 inches or 99 cm at centre point (lightly stretched), and 62 inches (157 cm) along top edge.
