and 3 mm needle (giving equivalent of size 8 caston at my guage). I will adjust bust after sleeve opening, keeping the upper back at smaller size.
Completed short rows and working down the back to armscye shaping.

After knitting 7 cm at 102 stitches, started 1st set of increases away from the edges, 2 stitches added every 6 rows to reach 110 stitches (size 10 number) 8 rows before the increases at edges. To offset guage, more rows worked to get desired length for armhole.

Started the underarm increases, after knitting to 16cm unblocked, as I want more sleeve stitches. Worked increases as per size 10 instructions, and placed stitches on hold, breaking yarn after final purl row.

Returning needles to caston stitches, purled across (as I used backward loop for provisional cast on), and continued with instructions for right front on right side row.

4 repeats of lace completed on right front, I have been adding a m1 stitch before marker when beginning the 8 row repeat, to increase from size 9 to size 10.

Started underarm increases after 8th lace repeat.
Completed right front upper on the morning of the 5th. Transferred needle to left front caston stitches after transferring right front to barber cord.

Completed left front, with 13 repeats of border pattern, and joined to back which measured 59 cm across unblocked.
My extra rows has given me an additional 3-4 cm of armhole depth.

Will finish the 1st skein today, currently 5.5 cm below armhole join, and hoping to get another 2 cm with the end of skein.
Then to pick up stitches for sleeve and start short rows with the next skein.
Picked up the sleeve stitches, looking for a more appropriate cord to start short rows on the 10th.

Finished the sleeve cap short rows, short rows 5 +1, then each stitch after ds to marker for underarm increases, and added an inch of in-the- round knitting of the sleeve.

July 16, 2025

Sleeve now 7 inches from top of shoulder, continuing decreases every 6 rows for 7.5 cm then every 4 rows.

July 19, 2025

Finished the 17th decrease on my sleeve, preparing to start the ribbed cuff, 87 stitches.
Knit until 7.25 cm unblocked, did the buttonhole row, an extra row after and cast off purwise on wrong side row. Used 45 gms for this sleeve. Need to find 2 teeny buttons for the sleeve cuffs ( as it it is a 1 stitch 1 row buttonhole )

1/3 the way into the 2nd cuff, I have switched to watching the ladies of the Tour de Femme replay Stage 1, will rejoin to the body this afternoon for the final Stage of the Men’s race.

Unblocked underarm length of sleeve 37 cm.
I completed a few more rows of the body after rejoining, and started the 3rd skein.
Began side seam decreases at the 11cm below underarm join point (unblocked), increase each side of side seam marker with 1 knit stitch between, and established a Princess line decrease marker on the back, 32 stitches in from the side seam markers.

I have finished my waist shaping and now 16 cm below underarm join, so plain knitting other than the lace border panels.
Knit 24 rows without any shaping.

Side seam length now 30 cm.

Started the twisted ribbing last night, but my shoulder is niggling, so I am going to have take more breaks and pickup a different wip.

I did 3 repeats for the hem ribbing, finishing on row 7, and 3 rows of hem border instructions, before an alternating cable bind off on 3.25 mm dpn.

Sewn on the buttons, 8gm of 3rd skein left, weaving in ends now and waiting for a sunny day to block.

Blocking my cardi, hopefully it will dry by Saturday afternoon.

Guage for sleeves in the round blocked at 25 stitches to 39 rows, so my gut feeling to add stitches to sleeves paid off in some positive ease.
