At 1/2 way point of square 1, this one will take about 70 gms.

Cast on Square 2, cast off on 19 Feb. Ordered an extra Topaz and Tide with 2nd quarter (doubled). Order Delta and Halo if a lighter colourway and bluer required. Cast on square 4 in Cove Lush DK from stash, will knit March MAL colour as square 5, and April as squares 3 and 8.

Nearing half way point of square 5, blocking square 4, coming out larger in Lush DK.

** Had difficulty with cast on set up of square 5 as instructions incorrect they have been copied from another square, the increase ratio is way out to get required stitch count, ended ripping back and doing k1, m1 3 and 4 times each end, rather than play with k2, m1 repeat in the middle of increase row. The square is also bigger, will have to pull back edging of square 1 before sewing up, and add a part wiggle (guage on 1st possibly a lot tighter using no cable needle).

Will keep checking gauge of the more dense squares against less crossing patterned squares.
March colourway most likely Alexandrite, as fatigue has set in will do 2 squares with lighter colourways next.

Caked up Topaz for square 3, Riverstone for square 9, add April colourway for square 8. If May colourway is a deeper Cove teal it will be square 7.

Cast off Square 3 on 20th April, and cast on Square 9 in Riverstone (pale grey).

Finishing up square 8 at the end of April, will cake up the Tide skein for square 10, so I will ready to knit square 7 in the May MAL colourway in 3rd week of May, will decide on using 2nd skein of April colourway for knitting in June after the May skeins arrive.

Started square 7 in Tide colourway, I expect the May MAL colourway to arrive at the end of next week, and if it is the deeper steel blue I expect from the website pic, that will be square 10, and the other deep olive may be square 12, and I may start stitching them together, as a partial lap blanket.

Having knit half the squares, and thinking about an edging, I came across Frankie Brown’s Ten stitch cable blanket. I think using the leftovers assembled into a gradient once I have all the colours, possibly with a skein of co-ordinating semi solid, would make a great border and extend the size a little more, as though superwash and therefore stretchy when wet, my blocks are a little small.

Castoff square 6 on 21st June using 83 gms, and then cast on square 12.
Square 12 cast off 28th June but not blocked.

Popped latest 2 squares in to block, I am expecting the next skein from Fiber Lily by the end of the week.

Square 15 cast on the 23rd of July and cast off on 28th, with 24.5 gms left.

Started square 11 in the MAL September colourway. Cast off 24th, sewn into blanket on 26th September.

October colourway most likely for square 18, and Sept for square 14.

Having issues with square 20, will be ripping back the same 10 rows again. Too tired and I want it to be done.

Stalled on square 20, with last 3 squares yet to be started. Think the virus I caught after struggling with hayfever was Covid. Keep making mistakes and very tired, have set aside square 20. Ordered wrong weight of colourway for final quarter ….
Getting a shawl off the needles, so will cake up another skein and start another square on new cord, will come back to 20 and frog back a portion again for the 4th time. I will not make my January 2025 deadline for this project, but will be finished well before 21 months.

Square 20 finished with 46.57 gm of Riverstone left for the border. Square 19 started with Alexandrite, waiting for next order for dyed to order last quarter set, 2 of the lighter (not Olive) to knit the last 2 squares.
Blocked square 19 on 7th Dec. 22.7 gms left of the Alexandrite.

Will finish knitting square 19 today, and cast on the last square (no. 14), in November MAL colourway.
