Notes

WTB member pattern using 4 mm needle for a long shallow crescent. The Countess Ablaze is a bit finer. I have a royal blue silver sparkle sock mini from WAStylz (20gm mini), for bind off and accents if required, I will alternate contrasts silver grey from Love and Speckles with slightly lavender variegated suri in each section, with the royal blue from Countess Ablaze as hero colour.

Cast on the the 28th May using 4mm needles.

After 2nd lace section I have swapped order of the silver grey sock and the smoke suri.

June 1, 2026

On garter after 3rd lace section, I am still planning an extra section of lace and garter to enlarge the shawl. 46gm of the Countess Ablaze BFL and 20 gms of the Love and Speckles silver grey sock used so far, no issues with amount of the suri left which will be my border hero.

June 4, 2026

Abbreviated 5th lace section (8 rows) completed, and on final garter rows in lighter colours before border set up.

June 6, 2026

Wound up a 20 gm mini in silver sparkle in denim (from WAStylz) for the border, with the suri from Folklore and Fibre with 20.6 gm left before the border, left with 32 cm length of the suri, 40 cm of the silver grey sock yarn.

June 11, 2026

Cast off icord, too wet to block yet, securing some yarn ends. 2.2 gms of the denim sparkle sock left after finishing the icord.

Blocked 13th June, blocked size 296 cm length and 63 cm depth at centre after a few wears.
