June 24th, 2019:

This was a quick and easy knit! I have worn my Deschain today for the second time; I wanted to wear it once again before the scary heat weave arrives on Wednesday…

As my swatch was smaller than called for in the pattern (the yarn I chose has more meters per 50 g), initially I decided to knit the second smallest size, but when I had almost finished the front it seemed to me that it was going to be way too big. Therefore I started again with the smallest size. I am now convinced that I shouldn’t have done it!

In my opinion, what makes this design so special is the dramatically wide, boxy shape and the extremely dropped shoulders. My pullover is wide, of course, but definitely not wide enough to have this special look that I wanted to achieve.

I like my Deschain after all and I will wear it for sure, but if I knit another one (perhaps next year), I will either use the yarn suggested in the pattern or go for the next bigger size.

I almost forgot to say that I added one pattern repeat to the front and to the back, otherwise it would have been too short for me.
