Details

Neck measurement 24” made 22” x 6.5” ribbed rectangle, whip stitched together to make tube. Then single crochet across one side from shoulder to shoulder measurement. continue with whatever stitch you prefer going back and forth down back to desired length above rump.
Chest - 19 Sc into front of neck line to create panel that will sit between front legs. Then continue with whatever stitch you prefer. I used HDC. 3 “ of same count on each row. Then start increasing 1 st on first st of each row until it measures 9.5 inches across. 8” & 33 st @ this gauge. then continue same count of st on each row until you get to desired length.
19 st = 5.5 inches first row of chest. Grey ended at 9.75 inches from where front Connects to neck
49 st = 14 inches across back Grey ended at 12.75 inches from where back Connects to neck with black sc around sides and neck, hdc at bottom( normal stitches) of front and back.
Starting at neck hdc around the 3 sides of back to increase size using 3 hdc at corners of bottom and sl st into 2 st the neckline before turn . Ch 1 Work hdc into 2nd sl st from hook and make another row around.
Once last stitches into neck have been done complete last row around by sl st into corner and doing decrease at bottom. Then decrease last 2 st of bottom and sl st in corner of other side.
Proceed with hdc around chest and do 2 sl st into back panel stitches to connect back and chest as you complete each row. Turning and chaining one and hdc into 2nd sl st to start new row.
4 th row starts button flap.
Stich down first side and turn. Stich into 15 stitches back towards neck crating flap. Make enough rows to give overlap of chest and back.
making 4 “ wide flap.
6th row hdc in first 2 st, ch 2, skip 2 stitches, hdc in next 7 stiches, chain 2, skip 2 stiches. Hdc in last 2 stiches of row. Make 2 more rows w/ sc to finish flap.
Sc down side of flap towards bottom of chest and across to other side.
Hdc down to neck and finish off
Tie back on and repeat flap on last 15 stitches.
Place buttons and done.
