Notes

This was a project that I pretty much designed myself. I got the basic jumper pattern from Simply Knitting January 2012, the ‘Timmy Time’ jumper pattern. This is a DK pattern. I used Milla Mia yarn as I fell in love with it and knitting it is divine! Milla Mia is a 5 ply though- so I had to transpose the pattern. As a rough guide, age 1-2, it said cast on 66 stitches, I cast on 75, and worked to that ratio. (Good job I’m good at math!)

The intarsia pattern was found here:
http://www.yarnspirations.com/pattern/knitting/airplane-b...
However, this gives a very big aeroplane as the motif is supposed to be for a blanket (my next project ?!) so I basically clumped the design into blocks of 4, making a grid where each new square had 4 of the original squares. Then I coloured it in with whichever colour was the biggest amount? I don’t know if that makes any sense so ill photograph the grid to help!

I then chose to put multi-coloured buttons to match the colours in the plane.

It looks kinda big for a 1-2 yr old but then again I know nothing about kids so I may not be the best judge for sizing!
