First filet project.
Pattern : a braceletbook.com alpha pattern for the filet pattern.
Filet pattern is 28x45 blocks.
Yarn : 100% cotton yarn from clubcrochet.com kit. Typically it is 4-ply worsted weight, but I unplyed it down to 1-ply for this project - so I’m using roughly fingering weight (best guess).
Hooks : 3mm for starting chain. 2.5mm for the rest of the project.
• 8/3/25 : Started project. Doing 3st filet. Used 2-ply and 3mm hook and completed 2 rows of pattern. Turned out too big. (60m)
Restarted with 1-ply, 3mm hook for starting chain and 2.5mm for the rest, using DC for the filets. Completed 2 rows of pattern. Turned out the rows were too short. (40m)
• 8/4 : Frogged back to starting chain and redid first 2 rows of pattern in 1-ply, but used TR, still using 3st filet. I like this combo. (32m)
• 8/5 : Comp. rows 3-4 (25m)
• 8/6 : Comp. rows 5-7 (45m)
• 8/7 : Comp. rows 8-9, & most of 10 (41m)
• 8/9 : Comp. rows 10-15 (61m)
• 8/10 : Started over with 2st filet and DC in effort to make project smaller. Using 2.5mm hook for starting ch and rest of project. Comp. rows 1-10 (78m)
- project went from 11” wide (3st & TR) to 7.5” wide (2st & DC)
• 8/11 : Comp. rows 11-18 (60m)
• 8/12 : Comp. rows 19-20 (17m)
• 8/13 : Comp. rows 21-22, started 23 (21m)
• 8/14 : Comp. rows 23-26 (45m)
• 8/15 : Comp. rows 27-29 (20m)
• 8/16 : Frogged and redid rows 27-29 (missed a st) (20m)
• 8/17 : Realized I added an extra st. Frogged back to row 19. Comp. rows 20-25 (45m)
• 8/18 : Comp. project. (rows 26-45) (277m)
Total time : 887min / 14 hrs, 47min
