I made that top brown hat when I first got the book by Scarlett Royal. I love her patterns and YouTubes attached in her Kindle book Any Loom Any Hat Any Time. It is just as easy as she makes it appear. And though I can’t remember the top brown loom I know the next two were on the red loom. I don’t know what the name of the yarn I used as it was donated without a label. But this kind of fuzzy yarn works well on the looms where it is really hard to crochet.
That last hat is thrown in as it is made of the leftovers and was just a straight knit on the red loom.
I have started using a decreasing gathered cast off. I found it here: http://www.goodknitkisses.com/modified-gathered-bind/ for most of my hats now. It leaves such a nice flat top and it looks like a star when finished. Word of warning, this fuzzier yarn broke trying to tighten it the first time so I had to tink back and try again. The last time it worked. Yay!
