Notes

There’s no way I was going to hand knit these, but since they are designed in the round, I had to break up the pattern into 4 pieces to make them flat.

I added 1 stitch for selvedge and was able to keep the pattern in line: P3, (K2,P4), P3.

I used my mid-gauge Taitexma TH-160 + ribber at a gauge of 2.3/3.

The yarn is divine and feels wonderful. I made them shorter than I normally would have because I know that the alpaca will stretch. The pants, indeed, are heavy to boot.

I think that the elastic will bunch up the waistband too much and I may have to throw the top of the legs back on the machine to decrease the side seams inward and lose some fabric.

But first I will baste the elastic in to see if I am right. These really do need to fit very tight at the waist to deal with the weight of the yarn. I’ve used ~12 50g balls so far, so that’s more than a pound of pants! rolling_on_the_floor_laughing
