Notes

10Aug09: I decided to rib the bottom to bring it in a bit and am satisfied with the 80s teeny-bopper look I achieved. It’s a 3x2 rib that was reduced to 2x2. Same on the sleeve, which was ribbed from a provisional cast-on (a life-saver for my long arms). I didn’t like the garter stitch turtleneck, so I did a simple pick-up, cast-off collar. It curls just enough to show the pretty bind-off and it’s just low enough not to bother me on my neck. A super-warm sweater, though I am sure it will pill. We shall see! Overall an interesting knit with a lot of little elements. I wouldn’t recommend it to the beginning sweater maker, it’s a bit of a challenge, though fun. Oh, another thing, I never really changed needles, it was US4 throughout at some point. Doesnt’ seem to matter.

03May09: SO, it’s been awhile! It took me, like, two days to do front and back, the pinwheel was so much fun. But then 20 years to do the sleeves. Provisional cast on for the sleeves, I want them to be wrist length. So, I will lengthen sleeves, add a waist border and clean up the neck. I like it open, I won’t do the mock turtleneck I think…

The yarn is a gift from my mother for Christmas. I browsed around for patterns that originally use the yarn, and this one impressed me. A lovely TV project.
