But while the yarn is gorgeously soft and warm, it is simple in texture. It needs to shine without the fuss of lace, bobbles, cables or other bells and whistles.

The free Trail 4 Hat pattern was PERFECT!

The brim is folded and knit with a US 8 needle so it is tight and warm. No wind will reach your ears! The top of the hat is single thickness and knit with a larger needle to let it breathe. It’s literally perfect for a hike on a cold day (or stuck in front of my computer while working remote through the winter).

I added 2 inches of length before decreasing, so the medium probably only uses 30-40g total.
