I had intended to make more regular updates, but c’est la vie. The pattern is written very well, and it’s easy to customize. I chose to do the regular back scales, the regular head plate, and regular wings. I thought of giving her horns too, but they just weren’t working out with the look I wanted.

I still want to make a sister, but this little one tried my patience toward the end. I’m not sure if it was because I was trying to finish up for a deadline, or if I was just anxious to see her finished, but in particular, sewing the back flaps of the wings down was difficult. I think maybe her small size had something to do with that as well. In any case, I need a break before I attempt sis.

I entered Spitfire in the NC State Fair and am waiting to hear if she placed at all. Not quite expecting that, because there are some visible flaws and inconsistencies, but hopeful nonetheless!

Just realized that I never updated! We didn’t win anything at the fair, but it was fun to see my work on display.
