Notes

Baby shower gift! The Liggitts have a black lab, so this seemed like the best pattern to create her in yarn. I used grey yarn for the nose and eyebrows, since black felt like overkill. I had to get the chenille yarn from Amazon.

Good pattern with lots of details, photos, info, and video tutorial links.

Even still, I don’t think the back/bottom two feet lined up just right. If I make this again, I’ll have to remember to add some stitches before moving on to the part where the feet are joined.

Also, there were specific rows and stitches listed to assemble most pieces, but not for attaching the head. That part only said what rows on each piece were meant to be joined, but I had to watch the video and infer, since the video seemed to refer to a color transition that didn’t happen in this particular pattern, and still didn’t really indicate a starting or ending point for the join.

The good thing is that through most of the pattern, there are plenty of photos and videos so you can refer to those visuals to figure out what isn’t explicitly described.

I worried a little about the snout after I’d done it. It didn’t seem to “pucker in” the same way on both sides, and the eyes seemed to be affected by that. But after looking at the videos and photos, I don’t think I made a mistake. I think it’s just the way the stitches lay. I wish I had used the next size up for the eyes.

Stitching the nose wasn’t as hard as I expected, and again, there was a good video for reference. However, I kinda felt like my nose wasn’t as wide as how it looks in the pattern photos. Not a deal breaker, but I might keep that in mind for future makes.

Everyone who has seen her has loved her. Super cute!
