I bought some Paint Party to make the mermaid doll for Marlow, and had some left over, so I thought I’d make a cocoon for her. Threw in Instant Classic, hopeful that between the two of these I would be able to make the whole thing. Didn’t quite have enough to finish the pattern, so bought another skein of each. Didn’t get into the second skein of Instant Classic, though. I had some random worsted purple solid that I used for the “base” of the scales.

I preferred the tail fin style that was used in the doll pattern, so I made the same ones, but larger, for the cocoon. They like to curl, so I tried blocking the fins. I think it helped, but they still curl.

I haven’t made any of the accessories with this one, but I’m looking for a pattern to make a little top rather than the seashell bra.
