Tour De Fleece progress:
Day 1: was a little caught up with family engagements and work. No spinning done today :/
Day 2: Spinning Superwash Merino/Nylon blend that I handpainted in a pink/purple/blue colorway. May end up either navajo plied or single.
Day 3: N-plyed the superwash
Day 4: I started spinning a roving of regular wool from Knitpicks. I’m drafting it real thin to attempt to get a good consistent weight in this yarn which will be a single and then I will dye it once I am finished tomorrow.
Day 5: I finished spinning the Knitpicks roving and I am going to sleep on it while trying to figure out whether or not I should ply it. If I do ply it, I’m not quite sure HOW i will ply it. Its really thin and may bloom very well if plied, but works well as a single too. Decisions, decisions.
Day 15: omg. been caught up with life. but im back in this race till the end! I plied this yarn into a 2 ply sockeweigh(ish) yarn. Details on the skein in the stash.
Day 16: I’m continuing progress on some green merino on the spindle. Pictures to come.
Day 17: Spinning a big ol’ bag of undyed BFL Superwash I got from Paradise fibers.
Day 18:Still spinning the BFL superwash instead of resting.
Day 19: I must have switched the challenge and rest days in my subconcious because i didn’t spin anything today :/
Day 20: Still spinning the BFL superwash
Day 21: Finished spinning the BFL, n-plyed.
Day 22: Spun the rest of the green merino on the bottom whorl spindle. The SOFTEST of them all! Too bad I only dyed less than one ounce of this lot, but I have like 7 ounces of this undyed raw fiber waiting for me.
Day 23: I spun the red and violet border leicester after blending them together. I only wanted a small sample to see how i want the rest of these fibers prepped. I n-plyed the green merino. I dyed the smaller undyed wool skein a blue/green colorway and dyed the bfl superwash in orange kool-aid.
That is all this year! I also have a braid of unknown wool type fiber in the pot cooling off. Its TdF yellow….
