Ellie needs a friend and these are so darn cute!
I made a cute hippo head starting from this pattern and just whung it so don’t ask how I did it, K?
Crocheted cute little ears and on to the body…
Yarn is just doubled this time. The 2/20nm is much finer than the 3/28:-)
I am done and he’ll be off for his bath shortly! I don’t think he will look so forlorn though…
I also made his legs a little shorter too. (Fewer rows) Hippo’s have short legs but it means that he doesn’t sit quite as nicely and no trunk to balance on.
Ears…
Oh gosh… I picked up 2 stitches, double crocheted them, did 3 double crochets the other way and tied off the end down by the first stitch… voila! It kinda made a triangle till I tied the one end down.
The head….Oh my, what did I do.
The nose is the back of the elephant head, turned around, till row 4 of the knitting straight knitting, then I increased a couple times, on one section on 2 sides… to make the cheeks a bit wider…then went down to 24 stitches over a few rows and knit the eye part of the head and then decreased like one of the feet. (Told you guys not to ask! LOL!) Something like this…
That’s about as good as I can get. You guys should be able to fudge it too!
ETA: It doesn’t have to be perfect! Artistic licence and all….it just adds character if things are not perfect!! :-)
27 grams used:-)
SAME treatment for Ellie as for Henry. Washed well in the sink and threw him in the HOT dryer for about an hour with my dryer balls.
