Did 15 rows of ktbl, p for cuff, then decreased to 50 stitches. Did another 15 rows before starting thumb increases. Plan to use m1left and right for increases and only do them every 3d row, like in the straightforward mitts.

Finished first mitten - did pick up 26 stitches for thumb, decreased 2 every other row to 20 stitches, knit 25 rows before k2tg around and closing thumb.

For the slit, I bound of 10 stitches 7 stitches from the side and casted on immediately after that.

If I did it again, I would probably cast on app. 5 stitches more, with 2 mm needles, 50 stitches are a tad tight. Otherwise fine.
