Love the version Ingrid made. I will not do contrasting stripes, but use a gradient yarn which I hope will work out nicely as well.

Did the first “step” decrease when I had 50 stitches on the right side of my middle marker as I have not as much yarn as given in the pattern. Also only decresed 8 stitches every 8 rows.
Totally do not understand the construction yet, I am not sure it will be big enough in the end.

Ich habe einige Anfragen bekommen, welches Buch denn da gerade auf meinem Kindle aufgeschlagen ist - es ist “Ein verzauberter Sommer” von Juliet Hall * »

Forgot something when altering the pattern: If I decide to start the decreases earlier, I should have casted on less stitches in the first place.
The pattern tells you to start the decreases when you are in the middle of the piece.
So I now started to increase 2 stitches in each right side row on the right side of the middle marker, then do that for 10 rows (i.e. 10 stitches increased) before I cast off 8 stitches for the steps. This means I will increase 2 stitches in 10 rows on the right side.
Might change that to just 8 stitches, we will see.
So the shape will probably be somewhat “organic” and not so symmetrical, but might look nice as well, I think I can block that.
However, the decreases on the left side of the marker are somehow on the tight side - any idea how that could be solved?

Finished! Wish I would have started with less stitches… The Thing is totally wearable, but is more on the long and narrow side and I normally prefer deeper Shawls…
Well, nevertheless, I like the colours (only I would have preferred if the last dark blue would not have to be entered) and I will wear this - but not now, 28 degrees is a bit too much to wear a shawl, even if it is from cotton.
