Was inpired by this sweater Kiko made in 2025 » in which she uses a pattern of Martina Umemura. I will try to reverse engineer it, using the measurements of my FF Backward sweaters and using sockyarn (as allways).
I do not have the Umemura-pattern, but am just using this and Kiko’s project as an inspiration.
I plan to cast on for the sleeves and then split for shoulders, then again for front an back, join at the shoulders again and then knit the second sleeve.
I did 12 stitches in garter stitch at bottom hem and at shoulders, and I plan to do a 3 stitch I-Cord edging at the neckline when I come to it.

Started sleeve with 60 stitches
Will increase to 88 over 13 cm after 5 cm cuff
I.e. 2 stitches every 1 cm

Did 10 rounds in bright green,
then 15 rounds in self striping
Increased every 5th round to 80 stitches,
will knit up straight for a while up to app. 35 cm length for sleeve

Started sides, casting on 116 stiches as backward loop cast on, then picked up and knitted 116 stitches from the back, which gives me a purl ridge as a fake side seam.
I am using two circular needles, one from back hem to shoulder, one from shoulder to front hem.
Plan to do 17 cm of neck opening, resulting in 58 cm for each shoulder, Plan to change colors every 14 cm, but I am not sure if I will add contrasting green stripes between colors.

Reached 5,5 cm per side, ie.10 garter ridges.
So I will switch to the new color after app. 25 garter ridges per side.

Finished first body part after 25 garter ridges, did 2 garter rows in neon green, then adding the yellow-green-blue striped yarn

Picked this up again after a short break at 4 ridges into the green-yellow-blue part.

Finished yellow-green part, will now start the center part after a neon green stripe. Will have to to 30-31 ridges for the centre.

Finished first 30 ridges for the front in the rainbow colorway, now on to 30 ridges for the back.
Decreased 2 stitches for the neckline in the front before the Icord edging and increased them back again.
Will not do that for the back, I think.

Picked it up again after a little break, I now reached ridge 13 of 30 for the back neck part.

Finished rainbow middle part, had to do 37 ridges to make the slit big enough for my head. I think I might run out of the colorways I already used when I aim to do 25 ridges each again, so I decided to only do 5 ridges of them, then 15 ridges of blue-grey and 5 ridges again - we will see.

Finished the blue-green part, was indeed only 24 ridges, not 25, so I just did 4 of the green.
Now of to the orange part - 5 ridges orange, 14 ridges blue, 5 ridges orange is the plan.
