Jan 6th Finally took “in wear” photos - was to lazy to put stockings on, so you have to bare my naked “Knubbelknie” - however, this is really warm, I almost would not need stockings.
Jan 1st Decreased the waistband to app. 104 stitches in 2x2 ribbing, knitted for 6 cm - seems to be tight enough, so I will not turn it and not add elastic. Will also not take my husband’s advice and call it “Frosch-Schlauch”. No. I will not do that.
Okay, I had a “dry period” during the long rows, but once I started the decreases, it went quickly. I knitted 2 together at the end of the row, picked up and knit 1 from the opposite side, passed knitted stitch over, picked up another stitch, turned, purled 2 together - which made sure I did not have to sew, but resulted in quite a bulky seam… would not recommend this. Now picked up 156 stitches with needles 3.5 mm for waistband. Not sure if I will double it, might be too thick with this yarn. Size and fit is okay around the hips, but -as always - way too wide in the waist.
Dec. 23d: Update: Took photos - I started the straight section yesterday. Will make this 50 cm long plus ribbing on top. quite love the yarn and how the colours work together. By the way: The cuuuuuuute tote bag with the sheep was a wonderful birthday gift from Bastelwastel - thank you sooo much!
Dec. 20th: Yeah! I FINALLY bought the yarn. First suprise: I did not buy the subtle brownish colourways, but a bright Wellensittichgrün - well, but I love it! First project on my brand-new Addi click needles. Yarn feels better than I thought, a little textured, a little tweedy. Intend to do the no-sew-knit-together-as-I go-solution from Susan (have to look it up).
