I am still considering what yarn to use, I think I will try Drops Safran. I still have some left, so I can do the swatching and then order some more…

July 31, 2026

Did cast on 33 stitches for the gauge swatvh, incl. 3 garter edge stitches on each side

Ok, gauge is quite loose with 3,5 mm needles, but I quite like the airy fabric, so I will probably stick with it. Will properly measure gauge when my yarn arrives.

Oh wow, that was turbo speedy delivery! Already got my yarn which I only ordered yesterday… Now to decide which color I will use for this - I am leaning to the red, which is a very nice bright red with a slight hint of salmon orange - really pretty!

August 14, 2026

Finally casted on!
Did 3 stitches extra each side to knit the edgings in instead of adding them afterwards

August 15, 2026

Really love to knit those! I was a little concerned the lace pattern would slow me down too much, but I really love knitting it and have it memorized quickly.
I am currently knitting on the 6th repeat for the back and I assume I will need about 7 repeats to get 20 cm length. Will not knit more as I do not want to have a deep armhole.

August 16, 2026

Reached 21 cm for the back after 7 pattern repeats.

Now to the fronts - I want the neckline to be less deep, so I think I will immediately start with the increases after picking up.

Ran out of first ball of yarn shortly before finishing the left front.

In addition, I will make the knitted side cuffs a little wider, i.e. 5 stitches instead of just 3. So I will pick up 45 instead of 40 stitches.

Started in row 10 after picking up stitches
casted on 11 stitches for closing neckline as it looked too small otherwise.

Now I will have to knit untile I have 7pattern repeats in total before I can join into the round.

August 17, 2026

Reached 7 front repeats, will now join into the round.

August 30, 2026

Picked it up again after a short break, but misread the chart, there are 5 plain rows between the eylets, not just four… Well, I do not think this will show a lot when worn.

I am now in my 5th repeat after sleeve separation.
Ran out of 3d ball in 1st round of 6th pattern repeat after sleeve separation.

September 4, 2026

Die 10 rounds 1by 1 ribbing at the bottom
Picked 90 for the neckline
Increased to 108 in 2. Round
Did 4 rounds of ribbing
3 rounds stockinette
Bound off with single crochet

September 5, 2026

Took in-wear photos. Though it does not pull in that much after blocking, the ribbing still creates an elastic fabric, so I could easily gone up a size more. Armholes are a bit on the wide side, but this is my fault, as I did not do the finishing ribbing the pattern tells you to do.

All in all, this is definitiely a success! I especially like the color on me and the lace pattern was very fun to knit. I might well use this as a lace panel in another garment in the future. Highly recommend this!
