So my first try got a little big with 144 stitches, now I have the pattern from the beginning and do the increases as given there.

I measured my gauge and had about 7.5 stitches per inch, I am currently thinking 136 stitches, but I might measure again at 128 stitches, maybe I would like it better with a bit more of negative ease.

Plan to use sockyarn scraps and doing some blending - maybe micro stripes or also jogless 5 row stripes or so - we will see.

Reached 112 stitches on the first day.

Started straight section at 136 stitches.
Re-measured, gauge is more like 7 stitches to the inch.

Did micro-striping / helical knitting with the leftovers from my sideways sweater and I really like the pinks in there.

Plan to blend in the Drops Nord as soon as I reach the brim section, as this yarn is smoother.

Reached 32 cm with first brown stripe.
Plan to start decreases at 48 cm total length after cast on.

Reached 42 cm, so 6 more to go!

Finished! Washed and “blocked” (let dry flat, that is) and tried it on. Size is much better now, but about 4 cm more length, i.e. 52 cm before starting decreases, would have been better.

Final length, unfolded after washing: 57 cm from tip to tip.

Still think that this type of hat does not really suit me, but I think I will find a recipient. Very much like the colors, though!
