Notes

Friday 09 November 2012 - Finished first glove. There is a bit of laddering in this glove, I tried to knit a few rows TBL. This seemed to cut out the ladders, but leaves a bit of a bump. I might want to either add another needle or try doing this on a short circ otherwise in order to avoid the laddering.

Cast on second glove. Since I counted the rows of the first glove, the second glove should go faster. I also got an 11” #3 Balene circ. After the ribbing is done, I will shift the project to the circ.

The second glove seems a little tighter and the stitches are much neater than the first. I might need to knit a third glove, since the first is probably not going to match this second glove.

Saturday 10 November 2012 - Right after I finished the ribbing, and knitting in the round towards the thumb increases - the brand new Balene circ disintegrated. DOH! I can’t believe this. I finished the glove. I tried to shift the needle joins every round to avoid the laddering. Jess of Wildfiber suggested this as I was purchasing the pre-disintegreted circ. Now instead of ladders I have an interesting pattern of bumps on the glove.

Wednesday 14 November 2012- Undid waste yarn & did first thumb. Went back to store, took back broken circ. They wouldn’t replace it on that account even though I’d only had it a few days and it seemed defective to me. So they called the manufacturer, and exchanged it on their behalf. At least. Finished second thumb. Will weave ends in tomorrow.

Thursday 15 November 2012 - Wove in ends. Gave to the old man with the cold hands who goes to morning prayers. He always says “good day” to everyone.

These turned out reasonably well. The next pair will be a bit easier and better.
