p. 230, No. 34 - Boa
This is made of the thick, soft, eider-down wool worked with a coarse, bone needle and fastened at the throat with ribbon strings.
Make a loose chain of 126 stitches. I don’t like working into a single loop of the chain, so I used foundation single crochet instead of simple chain stitch; it provides many more loops to work with and stretches more than a chain. Sample Boa has only 80 fsc to start.
- Miss 12 sts, 1 sc in next, * 12 ch, 1 sc in next loop of ch, repeat from * to end of row.
- Work along the other side of the foundation row with 12 ch, 1 sc.
- After reaching the end, turn and bending back the loops of the 1st row, work another row of loops as before on the same st as the 1st row.
