The name is Irish Gaelic and is pronounced:
dhill-oh-g (hard g) ee foh-ahr
(leaves - autumn)
and means Autumn Leaves in English

Started writing this pattern in the Handspun section - and somehow now have managed to put all the details in both !!

The pattern is based on an Irish Gaelic traditional shape – and hopefully it will go into our family knitting pattern book, so I have renamed it – so as to get used to thinking of it with a nod to Irish influence.

The original wool in my first shawl came from Fibreholics, but this one contains a quantity of my own samples.
November 2013 - I have now finished the garment, after a couple of false endings (thank you for the comments regarding Turkey bottom !!).
I have still though to finish writing up the pattern. I may or may not go back to the writing up, before I start the baby shawl, but suspect not.
