toby would like one of my Whacky Jumpers - so we are going to improvise with lots of cable, dark colours and I am going to add scouting badges as detail.
5th May - having worked the border (elongated irish knot pattern in complimentary colours) it was time for Toby to decide which colours he would like next - he masterfully kept a straight face and tight lips about the “girlie” shades I put forward (yellow has also definitely been discounted…) and we spent a couple of hours on the Wingham Wool site deciding what colours conspired to make up“Camouflage” … we have an interesting concoction involving turquoise and limes - somehow I don’t think he will be hidden from view when wearing it…. :-)
I also made the momentus decision that I ought to work with stitch markers because of the size… and have knitted the foundation rows for the cables…
2nd August - knitting a few rows at a time and got stuck in this morning at the KAL at Get Knitted. Half-way through the second cable diamond…. then got distracted…. Told by a fellow member to get it finished…. that has done the trick - thankyou….
8th August 2008 - Toby in hospital having his foot sorted out and me knitting for England (well the olympics it seems) - darn it - I have now run out of wool would you believe it (;-) - wink wink, now have to buy some more in solid colours at Coldharbour Mill - oh what a bothersome task….thank you Barclaycard…)
Continuing the Project over the Winter - discovering that I had to spin the wool as I worked and Toby became more intensely interested in the fruition of his project.
November
Re-thought the neckline and placed epilets with badges on which ha made it wider.
January 2009 - I don’t want to finish and consequently part with my old friend, it has had a birthday this week - we sang Happy Birthday to it at the Knitting Harpies..ah bless.
Finally got to grips with the change of collar on 31st January and finished…
