Three more wonderful Dudes: The Yule Dudes

are three individuals that are absolutely fun to make.

Like all instructions from Dana, the pattern is clearly structured and contains lots of helpful detailed photos, tips and tricks.
The little details like the snowman’s nose can be bit of a challenge. For the nose and the embellishment of the pudding I used embroidery thread. It’s always a bit slippery (just like most crochet thread) and that‘s why I don‘t like it. But of course you also could use a thinner cotton yarn or even ready-made embellishment (it‘s also offered in the pattern). But I think self made decoration always gives these guys a very special and individual look. So, for instance, if you look closely, my snowman’s nose looks a bit shriveled. I am sure it must be an older carrot and has nothing to do with my old eyes .
For the decoration of the Xmas Tree I used some golden beads and made some French knots with my red cotton yarn (for lack of red pearls).
For some reason my first Xmas Tree turned out too big. Since I didn’t have a Dude who suits him I made a second one. This way I noticed that the Xmas Tree Cap would also make a great stand alone Christmas decoration. Maybe I will make some more as background decoration for my Christmas / Yule Dudes
