This is a quick, fun project, perfect for relaxing. I finished the knitting in one evening!

The four-line charted pattern is easy to follow and would make a good mosaic-knitting beginner project.

A long-tail cast-on at the beginning can be perfectly matched with Elizabeth Zimmerman’s sewn bind-off.

“I Love this Cotton” yarn, combined with the pattern, created a firm, textured finish, reminiscent of Bargello needlepoint. “Monkey Brown” Twist wraps soft pink with chocolate brown and appears to sparkle against the deep, rich black - very nice!

No blocking was needed. The pouch will be surface-washed or, at most, hand-washed in cold water.

Next step? - to choose satin fabric for lining and a zipper with a distinctive pull. The pattern’s author, Kate Sharaf, suggests hand-stitching as an easier, and more accurate, alternative to machine-stitching for applying the zipper. I like this because hand-sewing, to me, can be as relaxing as knitting!

Update - The lining was put off until I found a good tutorial, then the move to Florida delayed it further. I finished the ______ pouch with a lining and closed it with a button. For this pouch, I want to use the lining by _______.
