This is a cute pattern - easy to do.

I made a pair of these booties to complete a set with the Baby Boy’s Bonnet I made with Adrian Bizilia’s Top Down Bonnet with Anime Character pattern.

The set is for Rick’s Criminal Justice professor, Col. Aldridge, who just became a grandfather.

I used my Embellish Knit to make 4-stitch I-cord 15”-long “shoelaces” to match the I-cord ties on the bonnet. The stockinette-stitch uppers on the booties match the stockinette-stitch bonnet, and the k2 p2 ribbing on the booties coordinates well with the I-cord ties. Altogether a nice effect - the bonnet and booties really look as if they belong together in a set.

The Bernat Softee Baby was easy to work with in this project, and the fabric has an attractive shine that sets off the anime character’s features. Both the bonnet and booties together used less than one 362 yd/140 g skein.
