Hi!

This project doesn’t really follow the Louhi pattern, but I used the cables from it so I’m listing this project under it.

I’m actually making a giant cloak. A GIANT cloak. A full circle, floor length, giant cloak with a (hopefully!) detachable hood. Last time I made calculations that came out to around 52 square feet of knitting.

It’s still in progress, but I’m almost there!

July 21, 2014:
I’m extremely close to being done, with only the lining yet be finished. (YAY!) I did end up making a detachable “hood” for it (if you could call it that) which now serves as a bit of a mini cloak that reaches to my knees.

July 25, 2014:
The cloak is officially DONE!!!!!!! DONE DONE DONE!!!!!!!!! The colors remind me of Arwen from Lord of the Rings :)

Approximately 119,808 stitches. This is just an approximation though, I would guess the actual number is higher due to cable compression.

The math:
16 sts per square inch.
16 sts/in² • 144in² = 2304 sts per foot.
2304 sts/ft² • 52ft² = 119,808 sts.
