This technique instruction is for machine knitting.
This technique gives a very stretchy seam. It is useful in grafting or binding-off neckline, sock cuffs, pants & skirts seams, or anywhere that you need alot of stretch. Someone in my group mentioned that it would be useful in blankets as well.
A little background about this technique. It was taught in all N.W.R.A.C. (North West Regional Advisory Council) classes in UK. With their approval, Ms. Kathleen Kinder was the first to publish this technique in her book “A Resource Book For Machine Knitters”.
I found that Ms. Kinder’s instructions of this technique was not an easy one to understand. Thus, I created my own step-by-step pictorial instructions. I hope you can apply this technique to some of your future projects.
Since I was unable to create a shared tutorial video, I requested Diana Sullivan to create one for everyone’s benefit. Thanks to her generosity, she agreed. You can view her tutorial video on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AAaTCPwddsA&feature=pl...
Happy Knitting!
