Notes

Oh my god, he’s so cute!

I bought this as a kit in the LYS Sommerfuglen. Kastanjestrik is on Ravelry, but this specific pattern isn’t, so I can’t link to it.

The kit contained the pattern and three small cakes of Jamieson Spindrift. It’s the first time I knit with that yarn, and I would love to get hold on some more.

The pingvin is knitted in the round up to the head. The wings are attached by knitting the remaining stitches together with stitches from the body. Then the head is knitted back and forth (I put all the stitches on one needle). The white part is made using intarsia, which is not as hard as I had feared (This was my first intarsia). I used the tips on how to twist yarns from the book “Mastering Color Knitting” by Melissa Leapman.

The pattern is quite well thought out, I especially like how the feet look like they have little “toes”/claws.

I needle felted the eyes on, using some black roving I had lying around.
