I love them even more, now that I can wear them outside!

Flip-flop soles: (Found flip-flops in the dead of winter (February) for $2.50 at OldNavy.com.) I reinserted the plugs on the bottoms of the soles and secured them with ShooGoo (AC Moore), which worked very well. I perforated the flip-flop using a .2mm embossing stylus. This tool worked better than anything else I could find. I used running stitch with fishing line. I sealed the crack between the boot and sole with ShooGoo to prevent water from seeping between the boot and the sole. I just squeezed the ShooGoo right on, but I think I might apply it with a popsicle stick next time.

Drying Notes: I used two toilet paper rolls in each foot to give some shape. I stuffed the rolls with a couple paper towels. so they would not collapse. Wrapping paper rolls (plus paper towels) gave some sturdiness to the legs.

Felting Notes: I don’t have a zippered pillowcase, so I put them in two regular pillowcases, one case inside the other. I found very little fuzz at all. I figure this is because my yarn is 100% wool, 0 mohair. Brown Sheep Lamb’s Pride also felts up very lovely, but I didn’t have enough of it for the project. I would definitely make these again with either yarn.

The feet knit up very quickly. What a quick and fun knit! I am loving this yarn. I bound off the boot tops with size 15 needles for a nice loose bind-off.
