Stylecraft DK from stash. Yarn held double. Changed one strand color every 10 rows (about 1.5 inches)
Finished measurement approx 50” x 66”.
Of the 6 or 8 afghans I’ve made over the past couple years, this one is the comfiest coziest one. While knitting on the last couple feet of it during a cold February, I draped it over my lap and cold feet, and it’s been wonderful!
Now that I’ve experienced fading yarn together, I’m dreaming of the next one I’d like to make. I just wish I could pick out the yarn in person.

2/26/21: I’m so happy with this Blankie!
2/23/21: I’m getting down to the finish line now! I’ll put about 2 more colors on, then I-cord bind off!
2/21/21: Worked on this a lot today (Sunday). I only needed to get about 12 more inches done. I’ve been stalling because I’m trying not to bust into any unused skeins. My remaining leftovers are getting harder and harder to put together for a nice fade. Finally I decided to just put them together as well as I can. No great tragedy, if it’s not a work of art! Right?
12/18/20: Finished Christmas themed socks and got back to this blanket last weekend. I’m already thinking and planning on picking colors for another one.
11/4/20: I’m getting very anxious to start knitting on some Christmas socks, but I JUST CAN’T STOP knitting on this squishy blanket!
10/21/20: Did some rows and transitioned color differently than the 1st time. This will be a learning experience in how to fade from one color to another. The cable cast on I did looks really beautiful as an edge.
10/20/20: Started over using cable cast-on.
(Frogged 2” of knitting and the i-cord cast-on last night. It just looked like crap.) I’m also re-thinking my colors. I’ve never done a fade, so I’m learning from scratch.
10/18/20: CO 168 + 3 ea side = 174 stitches
Very Pink Knits I-Cord Cast On
It took HOURS to do the I-cord cast on that I thought would be a very good idea. Well, it was NOT such a good idea. After casting on, the stitches were spaced very far apart, were elongated, and the first knitted row looked weird because of the elongated stitches, which didn’t match the “garter squish” . Frog Pond. Had to totally start over.
