this pattern is really, really beautiful - I can see why there are so many projects! I’ve used aran because it’s actually fatter than aran. I can’t wait to post it to my mum for her birthday. Yay! I’ve also had a go at steeking for the button holes (which turned out not too bad considering it was my first attempt) and found some lovely green buttons to go with the bottle green yarn

Mum hated the ‘fussy’ front, and wanted an altered version. So I undid the lovely front and redid it with a narrow button band and lots of extra buttons. It looks rather lovely. Photos to follow!
