14.12.2011 Photos added!

18.11.2011 So, this pattern has class. CLASS. And I LOVE IT. Everything in the pattern is totally perfectly put together. It looks so simple, but the clean lines and figure hugging shape and the eye catching button holes make it not only the most flattering knit, but also a load of fun. It is just wonderful - I can’t say enough good about it. I think most people would probably also learn something from knitting it.

The only mods were 1. fewer increases at the collar = collar is less wide. 2. Pockets were smaller (joined back in sooner). 3. Sleeves were reduced fewer times because I like them baggier. 4. Sleeves were longer with a thumb slit because the beautiful lady it’s for likes poking her thumb through - and has the tendency to poke holes in sweaters if you don’t make them!

This project had a minor sleep whilst I finished a christening gown for my god daughter to be - but finished on the long train journey in a mental week (Norwich on Monday, Bootle on Tuesday, Bedford on Wednesday, Newcastle on Thursday, Liverpool on Friday). Currently blocking and getting ready for final piccies! If I was doing this again, I’d use a chunky yarn. Used 11 balls.

More piccies uploaded

25/9 finished the collar and the grafting was fairly easy to be honest, just follow the instructions and it looks great. Now only sewing in ends and arms to do. I LOVE this. I’ve made the collar slightly less wide (6 stitches less on each side) so it doesn’t take over the cardigan so much and it is looking nice so far.

24/9/2011 Nearly done the body - done the two sides separately to keep track of it but it’s gone fine so far! About to start the collar - loving it, but want this body done so I can knit for the baby.

22/9/2011 Still LOVING this - it’s tricky enough to keep me thinking, but still I can do it on the train. It’s just gorgeous. Half way up the front now and going great guns - migh tbe finished soon - it’s going to fast!

8/9/2011 So far I am ABSOLUTELY LOVING THIS. It looks so simple and beautiful - but everything in it is just perfectly designed. The pockets are genius, the way the waist shaping just works perfectly - I bet this is going to be gorgeous. My sweetie is very excited! Even the yarn is lovely - only 30% wool, but very smooshy and not hard on my fingers at all. I’m going to get some piccies up - I’ve joined in the pockets row and done a few more - one more waist decrease, then knit straight for a bit… Excited!

Picked up this bargainous yarn and can’t wait to start with this lovely sweater (now that Durrow is off the needles - thank goodness!)

Gotta wait til 12 weeks to start knitting for the wee baby (it just has to be a girl - they have better colours) so i’m having to knit for my sweetie instead.

Let’s go!

Well, let’s go to bed first…

11/11/2011 FINISHED and it’s absolutely gorgeous. Waiting on some duffel buttons to arrive so I can put them on but I absolutely completely love this pattern. I’ll get some more pictures up tonight but it really is gorgeous. Thank you Carol! It’s been fantastic!
