I have a cone of mystery black lace (or maybe thread?) weight. Will pair it with cones of mystery vintage rayon.

I got a cone of merino tencel in a sand color. Will pair it with the mystery black and see what fabric it makes.

It took me five or six or seven tries (a few hours, all told!) to get started.

The cast-on is super fiddly with laceweight and size 4 needles.

Also, I didn’t initially understand the chart and followed it incorrectly. I didn’t know how to interpret the row numbers appearing in pairs on right and left and thought it had to do with direction of knitting, but it seems that it does not. Two rows in one color, then two rows in the other color.

My black yarn is maybe thread or cobweb instead of lace and might be too thin. I will do some more rows and see how it is working out.

Picking this back up. I am getting a beautiful fabric. I stopped as I was approaching the mid-point. Looking forward to the decrease side!

A lot smaller than I expected. I used thinner yarn than designer. But I haven’t blocked it yet.

Of course, size and drape improved after blocking.
