The chart for the skull is from the “We Call Them Pirates” pattern. The rest of the hat is in a 4 stitch wide by 5 stitch high checkered pattern. The bottom edge is “hemmed” by using a provisional cast-on, knitting twice the length of the desired cuff and then folding the work in half and knitting one stitch from the bottom and one stitch from the top of the work together, all the way around the hat.
