This is the second time I’ve made this blanket, and I’m beginning to wonder if it wouldn’t be a decent idea to cast on a frillion stitches and decrease every row, instead of casting on four and increasing forever. It’s so much more encouraging when the finish line gets closer and closer instead of further and further. :-)

Anyway, this time, I may go to the row of 20 instead of stopping at 16.

Aha! In fact I do not have enough white yarn to do the 20-row stripe, and I am able to tell this before I finish the 16-row stripe - which saves me getting through the 18-row stripe and then having to rip back in frustration. :-)
