Notes

I mainly used leftover dk or sport weight yarns to make baby jellyfish or baby octopi. Instead of using screw-on safety eyes, I crochet small circles of contrasting yarn to make the eyes that were sewn onto the head after the toy was completed. Alternatively the eyes can be left off the head. A mouth was embroidered on using long stitches placed between the eyes. Small loops of braided or crocheted yarn were tied and knotted at the top of the head to create a ring to attach the toy to a crib or stroller. Alternatively you can use a colour coordinated ribbon; or put a metal ring and hook at the top to attach to a backpack for an older child (teenager or even adult). Jellyfish can also be tied onto luggage to help you identify your bags on a carousel when travelling.
