For the bright pastel tote a variety of worsted- and sport-weight leftover yarns were used to make granny squares, which were rimmed in olive and forest green single crochet borders. Squares were sewn together to form the pouch. A top rim border was done in single crochet using matching colours to the granny squares. A bright green sport-weight yarn was combined with a single strand of olive mohair to make two straps. These were 10 sts wide in double crochet to desired length. Contrast blue buttons were sewn on for accents on each of the strap ends.

For the last tote, recycled Berroco Remix yarn in a mustard-gold colour was used as the main yarn in this crocheted tote bag. It can be washed in cold water on a delicate cycle, and laid flat to dry. I really like the feel of this yarn, and the textures look that it gives to the bag. The Remix contains nylon (30 per cent), cotton (27 per cent), acrylic (24 per cent), silk (10 per cent), and linen (9 per cent). A variety of acrylic and some cotton yarns, mainly as worsted or sport weight, were used to crochet the centres of the granny squares, in a variety of summer and fall colours.
