15th September 2015 - This is my third Hue shift and this time I am going for Christmas sparkle. I have reduced the size of the squares by casting on 39, so it will be more of a lapghan or back of the settee christmas throw.
Unfortunately the camera doesn’t pick up the sparkle and sequins. I hope to get some better photos as it progresses. The colour chart I made myself, the yellows represent golds and gold mixes, grey is silver and only two colours are not sparkly as I am using the cosmos orbit to sparkle the stylecraft gold. Even the white is sparkly. Now that I have started it I wish I had gone for full size squares but then again, as an experiment, it’s probably better keeping it a little smaller in case my colour design is a disaster.
I’d like to plan for the border to incorporate some of the colours or I might even do it in tinsel yarn!

27th March 2016 - joined two lots of two together and finished off various ends. Just need to join them completely and can at last pick up for the border. Wish I didn’t have to break off to feed the family. Oh why haven’t I got a freezer full of ready meals!

Because I made these squares smaller, picked up 190 on the first two sides. Working green and lilstick in alternating stripes with the last 2 rows being in a green and red tinsel yarn and cast off in green. Did the first side on a circular but realised that I can actually cram the stitches onto a straight, which goes much faster, on the second side. Have one more day off work to or row and hope to finish it.

31st March 2016 - finished with a tinsel edge. It’s hard to capture all the sparkle with the camera but it is covered in sequins, beads and shiny yarn. I will try again on a sunny day.

I didn’t go down in fours on this one but it seemed to work out ok. I wonder if a 33 cast on will still give enough of the hue shifting mitred effect. Also, rather than try and copy the knit picks baby colours I might stick to the rainbow pallett but in a muted baby version.
