This is my 2nd ESC for TSKTS’s Ten For Ten Charity MAL, bound for the Covenant House in Toronto. Knit and attached a pouch that includes a message of encouragement.

US 6 for chicken
US 5 for pouch

3 needle BO for ESC tail

pouch instructions
-CO 14 sts on each magic loop needle using JMCO
-rounds 1-14: K
-rounds 15-18: n1: 1x1 rib; n2: K
-round 19: n1: BO in pattern; n2: K
-the closure flap of the pouch will now be worked in rows with n2
-rows 20-24, n2: stockinette
-row 25 (RS): k1, ssk, k to last 3 sts, k2tog (12 sts remain)
-row 26 (WS): p
-work rows 25 & 26 until 8 sts remain (finish with WS row)
-row 31 (RS): k1, ssk, yo, k1, k2tog, k1 (7 sts remain)
-row 32 (WS): p
-row 33 (RS): k1, ssk, k1, k2tog, k1 (5 sts remain)
-row 34 (WS): p
-row 35 (RS): ssk, k1, k2tog (3sts remain)
-row 36 (WS): BO purl-wise
-block pouch and add button (line up with YO hole)

Using my revised pouch method above with wool yarn and a tight gauge turned out much better than the pouch I designed for my first ESC.
