The local Alpaca yarn was listed as 230 yard hanks so i assumed worsted weight. it is defiantly not worsted. I did the wrap around a pencil trick and it came up sport weight. I am holding strands doubled for this shawl. |
the hanks weigh between 50 G to 85 G
I counted the rounds while on swift and counted 109 so I believe that is 109 yards.
So what i thought would take 3 hanks to make might take 16 hanks to make? I will continue for a bit and reevaluate. this yarn is absolutely dreamy to work with. I would have mixed with another yarn but wanted to keep it all natural colors.
