Is this a joke?!!!! Seriously! I bought the pattern and spent way to much time picking out yarn. was trying to find something with the same gauge. I ended up with Road to China by the Fiber Company which is not something I would normally buy becasue it is so expensive. But i had a gift certificate. Anyway….gauge is 24-26 stitches per 4 inches and the pattern yarn is 22-24 per 4 inches. Normally hat patterns are WAY to big for me and I end up adjusting the pattern and I am a loose knitter so I went with it. The yarns are both supposed to be Aran weight.

I spent ALL day Christmas Day making this hat for myself. Im so ticked off….i don’t think it would fit a child. It is SO SMALL! It doesnt measure anywhere near the 22 inches the pattern claims. more like 16 1/2 inches.

this pattern is really nice but I would do a swatch sample and I really think this pattern was written for Worsted wight yarn and not the Aran. NO WAY!

DO THE MATH before starting this project.

I will try to salvage my expensive yarn and start over but this time I will be casting on 144.

so ticked off!

THIS PATTERN CAN NOT be written for Aran weight yarn! NO WAY! I made this hat three times! and i don’t even think it will fit my 10 year old neice it is soooooo small! I love the pattern, and it is well written except that it is so damned small….but I am not making this one again.
WASTE OF MONEY!
