So….I’m not sure what is going on with the ribbing. Hoping it will straighten out once I block the hat. But I am loving the yarn and the way the colors are turning out! So far this is a fun project.

Frogged the first attempt. Halfway through i found a knot in the yarn……and i thought the color would be fine, but as I went it became more and more obvious…..but i kept on going anyway, got all the way to the decreases and realized i skipped a row. UGH i just couldn’t live with both. Tried to unravel only to the spot where i skipped the row and it wasn’t successful. since i didn’t like the way the colors were matching up (from the knot in the middle of my skien) I scrapped the whole project.

attempt #2 started over……frogged again.!!!! ended up with matching colors….couldn’t see pattern at all. please tell me third time is a charm.

attempt #3 so far so good.

FIIINNNNAALLLLYYYYY Finished this crazy hat. Frogged the project three times Once because of me not paying close enough attention and once because there was a KNOT in the middle of my skein of yarn that messed the colors up….AND it was really obvious. and once becuse the colors matched up identically and i couldnt see pattern.

I think i TINKED as much as i knitted on this project.

overall the hat came out great and the pattern is great! Well worth the time it took to make. I did 7 repeats of the pattern because i wanted the hat to cover my ears. But once i started the decreases (after four rows…thats a decrease and a knit row so eight rows) I felt like the hat was getting too long and looked like it was going to end up being pointy……so i started doing the decreases every row instead of every other and that was a mistake. because the hat actually ended up being a tad too short. So I am going to make another one. (maybe next year…LOL!! I have to recover from this one.)
