Notes

I made this soap dish out of plarn (homemade plastic bag yarn) because I was tired of having my soap melt too quickly in the shower. It took only a day to make but crocheting with plarn is kinda tricky. It’s really stiff, but it’s also fragile and you have to be careful not to break it.

The soap dish worked great for a while, but the colored dye in the plastic bags would wash off with wear. The white soap dish was then stained with a pinkish color from the red dye. Also, the soap bar left bits in the bottom of the dish and it was impossible to get them out.

I don’t think I will ever be doing this again. It’s much better to recycle the grocery bags at the store, or to use them as mini trash bags, and use fabric grocery bags, than to make a soap dish out of them. Maybe I’ll try making something with plarn again, but not right now.
