Notes

Super easy fringed scarf from one skein of Alp Dazzle (Premier also works!). Our FABULOUS yarn rep, Wayne, shared this pattern from another shop. I don’t own the design or I’d upload to Rav. Yarnivores can get a print copy when they come in the shop, courtesy of Wayne and his friends.

Tricks:

  1. Beginner Basics (cast on, knit, bind off)
  2. Decreasing
  3. Fringing (easier if you have a handy fringe tool like the one from Chiao Goo)

Working Notes:

  1. This project works up FAST! It’s less than one skein and on US 11s, it goes by quickly. I made the 2nd (red) one in less than a day.
  2. Don’t get too twisty if you mess up the decreases - you just need to be relatively close. Having said that, I’ve made this twice and figured out how to be a little more methodical about it - I use a locking stitch marker to mark the changing decreases so it’s easier to keep track.
  3. Silver linings or making lemonade…. The blue scarf in the pics seems to have gotten stolen from our shop. Boo. It always stings when people steal yarn from the shop but it’s doubly painful when it’s your work. You just can’t get those hours back. On the plus side, I got to remake the scarf and discovered an error in the printed pattern. So, new sparkly scarf and an updated pattern…. :)
